Product Description

ErythritolWhat is erythritol?Erythritol is an organic compound, a naturally occurring achiral meso four-carbon sugar alcohol. It is the reduced form of D- or L-erythrose and one of the reduced forms of erythrulose. Used as a food additive and sugar substitute, it is synthesized from corn using enzymes and fermentation. Its formula is C4H10O4, or HO(CH2)(CHOH)2(CH2)OH.Erythritol is 60–70% as sweet as sugar but is almost noncaloric and doesn't affect blood sugar or cause tooth decay. Japanese companies pioneered its commercial use as a sweetener in the 1990s.Primary UseBulking AgentOther Functional UsesZero/Low-Sugar Products: Key in "sugar-free" products due to its zero calories and glycemic index.Beverages: Used in diet sodas, flavored waters, teas, and sports drinks for sugar-free sweetness.Confectionery: Found in sugar-free gum, mints, candies, and chocolates. Offers a cooling sensation.Baked Goods & Desserts: Used in sugar-free cookies, cakes, ice cream, and desserts. It doesn't caramelize, so recipes need adjustments. At 60-70% sweetness of sugar, it's often blended with sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit for volume and texture, mimicking sugar's "mouthfeel".Tooth-Friendly: Does not ferment in the mouth, preventing tooth decay, popular in oral care.
Humectant: Retains moisture in food products, preventing drying.
Masking Bitterness: Masks bitter aftertaste of other sweeteners, vitamins, or plant extracts.Product Parameters
