Butyl hydroxyanisole, also known as tert-butyl-4-hydroxyanisole, has a chemical formula of C11H1602 and a molecular weight of 180.25. It has two isomers: 3-BHA and 2-BHA, usually a mixture of the two
Butyl hydroxyanisole is a white to light yellow waxy solid with a slight peculiar odor, a melting point of 48-63°C, a boiling point of 264-270°C (98KPa), insoluble in water, and easily soluble in ethanol, propylene glycol and various oils

Chemical properties
Butyl hydroxyanisole is heat-stable and is not easily destroyed under weakly alkaline conditions. Long-term exposure to light will cause the color to darken. The antioxidant effect of 3-BHA is 1.5 to 2 times stronger than that of 2-BHA, and the two can be mixed to enhance the effect
In addition, butylated hydroxyanisole has a certain volatility and can be distilled by steam, so it is easy to lose in high-temperature products
